







In matched seals, the coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) of the glass and metal is balanced. These seals are ideal for applications with high-temperature variations or tight dimensional requirements, such as semiconductor and optoelectronic assemblies where precision is essential.
Compression seals leverage the difference in CTE between glass and metal. The outer metal eyelet shrinks onto the sealing glass during the production process, creating a compressive force that ensures an exceptionally strong bond. Because glass has a compressive strength 10 to 20 times higher than its tensile strength, compression seals are ideal for applications requiring high mechanical robustness.
